Zalmi TV presents TCL Gilgit-Baltistan Girls Football League

Zalmi is mobilising to promote women's empowerment in Pakistan while Zalmi TV
presents the TCL Gilgit-Baltistan Women's Football League, which will be held
From 13 to 17 September. Zalmi
Foundation President Javed Afridi said Peshawar Zalmi, a president of the Zalmi
Foundation wanted to provide women with a platform to enter the traditional
sports market.
Zalmi
aims to promote women's empowerment through the Zalmi TV channel presenting the
Gilgit-Baltistan Football League in Gilgit-Baltistan. The league was created by
two former football players, Karishma and Sumera, who represented Pakistan on
the international stage and belong to the Shimshal region. The first event of
its kind will take place at the high altitude of Passu, where more than 120
girls will participate for the final prize. 8 teams from all over the
Gilgit-Baltistan region will take part in this tremendous event. The matches will
take place on the beautiful Football Ground of Passu, Gojal Hunza.
There
Are 8 teams competing in this event. Units include Shimshal, Chipurson,
Shishkat, Passu, Sost, Hunza, Khyber and Gircha. These football teams are divided into two
groups of four teams. After the group stages, the semi-finals will take place. The
final will take place on September 17.
Karishma
Inayat and Sumaira Inayat, gbGFL leaders, said: "We are delighted to have
Zalmi at his side to take the league to the next level. These initiatives will
provide women with a platform to enter the sport arena. Our goal is to bring
this league to all parts of Pakistan, and we hope that one day we can execute
that. " There
are many women with sporting talents in Pakistan; they just need a proper
platform to present it.
